Located at the mouth of the mighty River Spey, Garmouth and Kingston were once the Centre of North East Scotland’s Shipbuilding industry. Using timber floated down the River from Highland forests, large ocean-going ships were built here during the 19th century.
Garmouth and Kingston Heritage group are currently seeking premises for a permanent display. They are able to research family histories and have an extensive database of local family histories and poor relief records.
